Ingredient Notes

- Ground Chicken – Use lean ground chicken for a healthier option. Ground turkey can also be used.
- Onion & Garlic – Grated onion adds moisture; garlic enhances flavor.
- Carrot – Brings natural sweetness and keeps the patties tender.
- Breadcrumbs – Helps bind the patties. Use gluten-free breadcrumbs for a gluten-free version.
- Egg – Acts as a binder to hold the patties together.

For a healthier twist, try making these chicken patties in the air fryer! Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C), lightly spray the basket with oil, and arrange the patties in a single layer. Air fry for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through. This method gives you crispy, golden patties with minimal oil!

- Turkey Patties – Swap ground chicken for turkey for a leaner option.
- Gluten-Free Patties – Use gluten-free breadcrumbs or almond flour.
- Spicy Chicken Patty – Add more cayenne or chili flakes.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes! Ground turkey works just as well in this recipe. The texture will be slightly different, but the patties will still be moist and flavorful. Just be sure not to overcook, as turkey can dry out quickly.
Absolutely! You can shape the patties and store them uncooked in the fridge for up to 24 hours before cooking. Alternatively, freeze them (raw or cooked) in an airtight container for up to 3 months.
If your patties are too soft or breaking apart, make sure you’ve used enough breadcrumbs and egg, as they act as binders. If the mixture still feels too wet,
No, but you can make it gluten-free by using gluten-free breadcrumbs or substituting oat flour or almond flour for binding. Be sure to check labels on other ingredients like mustard.

Hello David
I know recipe state 1 1/2 pounds of ground chicken. would it be ok to use 2 pounds just so I don’t have leftover chicken
Hi Marilen! Yes, you can absolutely use 2 pounds of ground chicken, just increase the seasoning and breadcrumbs slightly so the patties hold together and stay flavorful. Add about 25–30% more of each ingredient, or simply adjust to taste as you mix.
I made these patties for dinner. I ended up using ground turkey. I didn’t use the Cayenne pepper and I baked them. They were really good and full of flavor. I’d make them again.
This is truly a dynamite recipe with great flavor. The recipe as written is perfect and doesn’t need any adjustments. I did add the cayenne and found it tolerably spicy, but I wouldn’t
add it again. Instead, I would simply add the siracha to the mayonnaise to the heat level
required. I served these for dinner and they were a hit. The leftovers the next day made
a very pleasing lunch. Thanks for a winning recipe.
I baked it – turned out awesome!
Used freshly roasted cumin powder instead of store bought pack.
Super recipe! less effort. Loved it!
My grandsons are 15 and 16 and always on the go many times not
leaving enough time for breakfast. Could these be frozen and micro-
waved in the morning to make a sandwich before school.
Yes! They freeze well. Just let them cool, freeze in a single layer, then store in a zip bag. Reheat in the oven or microwave and pop into a sandwich, perfect for busy mornings!
Absolutely! You can skip the mustard or replace it with a teaspoon of mayo.
I hate mustard! can i make it without it?
So delicious!!!
Can I use the exact same recipe but with ground beef instead? I wonder if the result would be quite as good. You haven’t happened to try?
Yes, you can.
Thanks for this delicious recipe. I like the air fryer method
delicous and easy to prepare, I cooked some in the oven and others in the airfryer
Looks delicious! Which version you enjoyed more?
both of them , one is a little crunchy (airfryer) the other soft (oven).
thank you. This is the first recipe I’ve tried from your site. It encourages me to try again and again.
I made it the exact same way, but with one chance, i added one small grated Zucchini. used the same spices as written. Was absolutely delicious and tender. Thank you for your recipe.
