Asian Cabbage Salad Recipe
When you think of a cabbage salad, the first thing that usually comes to mind is a coleslaw. But not every cabbage salad is coleslaw, this salad, is an Asian-style cabbage salad. This Asian cabbage salad is dressed with sesame dressing and it’s crunchy and full of flavor. Ingredients
- 1 cabbage small-medium
- ¼ cup 60ml soy sauce
- 2 ½ tablespoons Rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons Vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons Sesame seed oil
- 2 ½ tablespoons Sugar white/brown
- 2-3 tablespoons Sesame seeds
Optional:
- Red chili
- Carrot
- Daikon radish
Instructions
- DIRECTIONS
- Peel the outer leaves of the cabbage, then cut the cabbage into quarters. Trim the core.
- Slice the cabbage very thinly and transfer into a large bowl.
- In a separate bowl whisk all sauce ingredients: soy sauce, rice vinegar, vegetable oil, sesame oil and sugar. Whisk well.
- Pour the sauce over the salad and mix well. Press the cabbage with your hands to fully cover.
- Toast the sesame seeds over low-medium heat for 2-3 minutes.
- Sprinkle the sesame seeds over the salad and serve.
- Slice 1-2 carrots very thinly and add to the salad.
- Slice red hot chili pepper and add the salad.
- Slice 1 daikon radish very thinly and add to the salad.
