Instead of buying hot chocolate mix, you can make your own homemade hot chocolate mix using only 3 ingredients.  All you need is cocoa powder, sugar and salt. The ratio I'm using is 1:1. 1 tablespoon cocoa powder and 1 tablespoon sugar per serving.  Per every serving of dry ingredients, I use 1 cup of milk. But you can use more or less milk, it's up to your preference.
DO YOU MAKE HOT CHOCOLATE WITH MILK OR WATER?
While most people drink their hot chocolate with milk, some people use water to make hot chocolate. When you are using milk to make hot cocoa, the result will be richer and sweeter hot chocolate with a silkier texture. When you using water, the result will be less rich and creamy but water allows the chocolate to show off its true flavors and you will feel more chocolatey flavor. You also can combine water with milk.
