How to Make Dot Cakes: Step-by-Step

  • Choose your ramekin size: This recipe makes 4 medium dot cakes using 8 oz (225ml) ramekins, 5 smaller cakes using 6 oz (170ml) ramekins, or 6 mini cakes using 4 oz (120ml) ramekins. The smaller the ramekins, the shorter the baking time may be.

In my opinion? Yes… mostly.

The actual cake itself is fantastic because I’m using my trusted vanilla cake base that I’ve tested for years. The frosting is creamy, balanced, and not overly sweet.

The only part I’m personally not obsessed with is the classic tiny round sprinkles. They create the iconic viral look, but many brands taste hard and artificial.

That said, using better-quality sprinkles makes a huge difference.
