Dalgona Mocha Coffee Recipe | Whipped Mocha | How to Make Frothy Café Mocha
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons Instant coffee
- 2 tablespoons Sugar
- 2 tablespoons Hot water
- 1 Tablespoon cocoa powder
- ½ cup 120ml Milk of your choice, cold or hot
- 2-3 Ice cubes if you making cold coffee
Instructions
- DIRECTIONS1. In a large mixing bowl place coffee, sugar and hot water (1:1:1 ratio). 2. Using a hand mixer or electric mixer, whisk until thick and creamy. When its thick and creamy add cocoa powder and keep whisking until combined and thick, and creamy. 3. Fill only 3/4 of a cup with cold milk and add ice cubes. 4. Top with foamy whipped coffee, grate some dark chocolat. Mix well before drink. Enjoy! Notes:
- Do I have to use sugar? The sugar helps the coffee whip to a fluffy and stable texture that holds its shape for a while. You can reduce sugar amount, but I’m not sure it will be so fluffy. If you’re really sensitive to sugar, you can reduce it down, just know that your coffee won’t be as fluffy.
- What kind of milk to use: You can use cow’s milk, dairy free milk such as almond milk, oat milk or any other kind of milk that you prefer.
- Cold or hot milk? For this recipe you can use cold or hot milk, they both taste great. If you are using cold milk, add few ice cubes.
- Can I make Dalgona coffee without electric mixer? Yes, you can whip the coffee using a regular whisk, it may take a little bit more time, but it absolutely possible.
Can’t wait to try this yummylicious recipe.. Would you be so kind n recommend a good instant coffee .
Gracias 😊
I have used Folgers regular Instant, but it has too smoky a flavor for me. Many people choose Nescafe, Nescafe Gold, or a store brand, but my favorite has been Medaglia D’Oro Espresso Instant Coffee. Very stout and powerful coffee flavor(I enjoy bold, dark coffee!!) and it whips great!! I have also used Folgers Decaf when I want a treat in the evening! It whips great too!! Happy sipping!!
Good morning! After I add the cocoa, it won’t be thick anymore! Can you help me?!
same
yeah same….
I tried making it this morning but my mixture never got creamy and fluffy it simply just created air bubble on the surface
You have to mix it for a really long time if you are using a whisk.
And don’t lose hope..
Because same thing happened to me
If you have a mixer grinder then use it(because I tried) and then give it a whisk for like more than 15 min or even more, but don’t get disappointed
So… Best of luck😀😀

Can I just use cocoa powder or hot chocolate powder instead of coffee altogether? Thanks
No, it wont work.
There are recipes that use whipping cream if you are looking for just a chocolate version (no coffee) of the whip. There are also versions that use chocolate milk drink mix (like Nesquik powder) to make the whip. I have not tried them but I know the recipes are out there!! Happy sipping!!
thanks
1 tablespoon of cocoa powder? Not clear in your list.
You are amazing I love you’re cooking wish you the best
How much cocoa powder do you use? It just says “1”
What is “1 Cocoa Powder”?????
Hi, the recipe tasted good however the fluffiness of the whipped coffee started to meltdown when I added the cocoa powder. Should have I whipped it longer or what happened?
Thanks for the recipe! How much is “1 cocoa powder”?

ME TOO, Miriam!! My fluff was so pretty and light and then I added the cocoa powder and all the FLOOF went FLOP! I still used the syrup in my almond milk– it was good, but not the same!
