Red Lentil Dal Recipe | Masoor Dal
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons Oil/ghee
- 1 Onion
- 1 tablespoon Crushed Garlic
- 1 tablespoon Ginger paste
- 2-3 teaspoons Curry powder
- 3 Tomatoes diced
- 1 â…“ cup Red lentils/orange lentils
- 4 cups 960ml Water/stock
- Coriander chopped
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
Instructions
- DIRECTIONS
- Rinse the lentil and set aside.
- In a large pan, heat oil or ghee. Add chopped onion and sauté for 3-4 minutes. Add crushed garlic, ginger paste and curry powder. Cook for 1-2 minutes.
- Add chopped tomatoes and cook until soft.
- Add rinsed lentil, water/vegetable stock, salt, pepper and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low heat, cover and cook for about 25 minutes. Open the lid every 4-5 minutes and stir.
- Turn the heat off, add chopped coriander and stir well.
- Serve!
