Make the cookies: Preheat oven to 170C (350F). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper and set aside.
In a medium saucepan heat milk, honey, slat and spices. Notes: at this stage you can add any spices that you like, for example: lemon zest, orange zest, cloves, nutmeg and more. Do not boil, heat just until dissolved and combined.
Transfer the mixture into a large bowl and allow to cool slightly. Then add vegetable oil, egg, vanilla extract and mix until combined.
In a large bowl mix flour, sugar, baking powder and soda.
Gradually, while constantly whisking add the flour to the liquid mixture and mix until dough is formed. The dough should be soft but not sticky.
Shape the dough into small balls and arrange them on prepared baking tray. Slightly flatten the balls.
Bake for 9-12 minutes, or until lightly golden on the bottom. Do not over bake.
Allow to cool.
Meanwhile make the glaze: in a bowl place powdered sugar, then add water/milk, 1 tablespoon at the time and mix until smooth.
Dip each cookie in the glaze the brush evenly all over the cookie.
